Eric Lilliebridge – New All-Time World Record Total Raw w/ wraps @ 308lbs (2,369lbs)

This broke Jon Cole’s All Time world record raw total w/ wraps of 2,364lbs done back in 1972. This was 2 weeks after competing at GPA Worlds. Had a much better meet on this day. I ended up missing 1,003lbs on my 3rd squat and 887lbs on my 3rd deadlift. Either one of those lifts would have given me a 2,400+ raw total. The squat bar was very whippy and threw me off, lost my balance on my last attempt on the way up. On my 2nd attempt with 440kgs, you can see me shaking bad out of the hole because of the bar whipping on my back. On my 3rd attempt deadlift, I was just gased and couldn’t finish it at lock out. The meet started at 9 a.m and didn’t finish until 10:30 p.m. We got done deadlifting after 10 so it was a very long day. The quest for a 1,000+lb raw squat and 2,400+lb raw total w/ wraps will be continued next year. Looking at doing my next meet sometime in the spring.

Eric Lilliebridge 465kgs/1,026lbs Raw Squat w/ wraps 24 y/o @ 300lbs

This was my last heavy Squat training session of my meet prep for GPA Worlds. I’m currently 3 weeks out and will be de loading all the way up to the meet now. For this training session, I basically just went by how I felt. The goal was to go up to at least my planned opener for the meet (420kgs/926lbs) and if I felt good, I’d go heavier. If not then I would just cut it there. Since that felt good, I decided to take a couple more heavier singles after. My dad picked the weight for my last set which was 465kgs/1,026lbs. That ended up feeling much better than I was expecting, it also moved faster than I expected too. I’d say the depth was right around parallel for that set. I got a side view of it just to make sure. I talked with Ed Coan right after this training session and showed him my depth. A couple weeks ago he had told my dad and myself that he might be judging at GPA Worlds. Since I knew he might be judging there, I asked him to give me a 100% honest opinion on how it looked. He had said it looked perfectly parallel and that I would need to take it in at least a 1/2 inch deeper to get white lights on depth at GPA. I’m taking his word for it and I’ll definitely get it in a tad bit deeper at the meet. I won’t be posting anymore videos until after the meet since all my heavy training is done now. If you want to keep up with me from now leading up to the meet, follow me on Instagram @ericlilliebridge.

Eric Lilliebridge 530lbs Raw Bench Paused 10-30-14

This was my last heavy Bench before GPA Worlds. Worked on heavy paused singles up to 98% of my goal 3rd attempt at the meet which came out to be 530lbs. I’m shooting for 245kg/540lbs at the competition for a meet PR. Coming off a couple weeks of De loading and being well rested before the meet, I think I’ll have another 10lbs in me even after max Squatting. But I’ll just have to wait and see how I feel on meet day. As of right now, I’m a little over 3 weeks out from the meet. All I have left is one last heavy Squat training session and after that I’ll basically just be De loading all the way until the meet.

Eric Lilliebridge 411kgs/906lbs Raw Deadlift PR @ 135kgs/298lbs

This was my last heavy Deadlift session for my meet prep towards GPA Worlds. As stated in the video, I had mistakenly used chalk in our chalk box that some how got baby powder spilled in there. So that’s why I was having issues with my grip. My strength felt spot on for this training session though which reassured me that my peaking is still going in the right direction towards the meet. Up to this point in my meet prep cycle, my grip hasn’t been an issue at all. So I know my grip didn’t just get weak all of a sudden. Just need to be more careful with the chalk I use next time at the gym. I also was out of town for a couple days on Friday and Saturday before this training session and I didn’t get in good meals and protein shakes like I normally do which is why my body weight was down to 298lbs.

Eric Lilliebridge 454kgs/1,001lbs x 1 x 2 Raw Squat w/ wraps PR @ 300lbs

I’m currently 5 weeks out from GPA Worlds. For this training session, I had planned to try doing a PR for a double with around 980-990lbs. I decided that I wanted to try more because I was feeling good warming up and went to 1,001lbs instead. On my first set, the first rep felt really good, I tried for a 2nd rep but I just couldn’t get in a good breath between the reps and it caused me to get out of form and round over mid way through it. I was pissed off because I knew I had the strength to do it for a double, I just made a little mistake and got loose for a split second and my form went to shit on the 2nd attempted rep. I rested for about 15 mins after and took the same weight again for another single so that I got in 2 good reps with 1,001lbs. Overall I was still happy with this training session considering I didn’t plan try anywhere near this until the meet. I still have one more heavy squat session left in a couple weeks. My meet prep training will be done in a few weeks and then I will be de loading and resting until the meet.
